THIS weeks paper brings you all the results and updates across the Borough to keep you up to date on the going ons in your local clubs.

Starting from the back, Matty Boreland has accepted the challenge for the Commonwealth Silver Title early next year, a win here would give him the Champ-Champ' status so early into his career against a tough opponent in Martin Hillman. Tonight (Tuesday 25) Coleraine FC host Larne in a top of the table clash, a win for either side pushes them even further ahead of those below them in the Premier League race. Newbridge and Scotstown meet again this weekend with an Ulster Cup Final meeting after the postponement over the weekend due to dreadful conditions.

Football

Coleraine were back on the pitch on Saturday after a two week layoff against Cliftonville at Solitude, but unfortunately for the Bannsiders - things didn't go there way after losing a 1-0 result due to a Rory Hale goal in the first half. Former Coleraine midfielder Patrick Kelly made his International debut for Northern Ireland against Luxembourg, he also netted his first Senior goal for his current club Barnsley FC in their 5-0 victory over Luton Town on Saturday.

In Limavady, a scrappy clash between the Roesiders and Ards saw the home side come out on top with a narrow 1-0 result after Sam McClintock was successful with a second half penalty. Portstewart FC drew at Dixon Park in their rescheduled fixture against Ballyclare Comrades - which is not the worst start for Interim manager Gary Boyd's side.

GAA

Glenullin win extra-time thriller and and advance to the Ulster IFC decider after defeating Carrickmacross on Sunday. Slaughtniel look set for a sixth hurling Title against St John. Slaughtniel will contest their tenth Ulster Senior Hurling Final since they made the breakthrough in 2013.

Golf

Around the greens we saw more Turkey competitions in Portstewart in the lead up to Christmas and a Texas Scramble over 13 holes over the Mussenden Course, Presentations for the  Ladies Annual Dinner event and more pictures from the Gerard Bradley Memorial Cup Day.

Rugby

Ballymoney's rugby teams had mixed results - the U16 Colts suffered a defeat to Donaghadee, but they never gave up in a uphill battle. The U14's continued their undefeated win streak at home, while the U16's won a 26-0 landslide victory against Limavady.

Hockey

Kia McCartney hit a double for Coleraine that secured their 3-1 victory over South Antrim. Points were shared in the local derby with a 1-1 finish against Ballymoney. And a narrow defeat against Bangor for the 3XI - but the Coleraine girls still showed off their determined spirits on the day.

General

Across the board we cover Triangle Triathlon Club's Awards night. There was plenty of motor cross news too, Ballymena are set to host the Ulster Rally - marking their 50th anniversary, whilst Jordan and Paul Hone win the Brown & Brown NI Forest Rally Challenge.
