ULSTER Rugby enjoyed an away day of a different kind on Friday when they decamped to Coleraine for a very special training day.

The entire playing squad and management held a public training session at Coleraine Grammar School in the afternoon before later holding a ‘meet and greet’ at Coleraine Rugby Club.

Several hundred Ulster supporters enjoyed meeting their heroes at the two venues as Ulster concluded their latest two week block of pre season training.

“It's brilliant, it's a nice part of the world,” said Ulster assistant coach Jimmy Duffy.

“Richie (Murphy) and I came up here a few months ago and had a look round the facilities and it's lived up to expectations, it's been brilliant.

“It's nice to get around and it's nice for the lads too – getting themselves out to the clubs and the schools.

"They were energised when they agreed on this a couple of months back and it's been brilliant."
