COLERAINE had to settle for a single bonus point on Saturday after a tight encounter with Monaghan in the league.

Both sides battled for possession and in the end the Montgomery Irwin sponsored Coleraine men fell just short on a 20-24 scoreline.

The losing bonus point could yet be important as the league enters the final phase and Coleraine target wins to move them out of the danger zone in the league standings.

There are three away games in the fixture list and one at home to Academy.

First up is an away game at Carrick this weekend, currently second in the league and sure to provide tough competition.

A win would go some way to securing Coleraine’s position in the league.

In Youth Rugby the U18s travel to Letterkenny, the U16s are home to Letterkenny and the U14s will be in action in the Provincial Bowl.

Coleraine First XV: Mark Hazleton, Zach Herald, Jordan Neely, Josh Cargin, Matthew Robinson, Thomas Neely. Shea Campbell, Simon McLean (Cpt), Joel Chambers, JF Burns, Brodie Stewart, Jake King, Ryan O’Kane, Niall McLaughlin, Connor Skuce.

Bench: Thomas McMullan, Greg Neely, Bruce Kirkpatrick.
