COLERAINE Ladies Hockey Club’s senior team have kept themselves in contention for the All Ireland Play Offs after two weeks of indoor competition.
A comprehensive 8-2 win against Antrim and a 4-2 loss v Ards leaves Coleraine in second place behind Ards and go into the Qualifying Group along with Queens for a place in the All Ireland Finals and All Ireland Super 6's.
Molly Brown, Coleraine's goalkeeper, has been in inspirational form and in defenders Karis McIntyre, Kenya McCartney, Erin Hart, Beth Monaghan and Ella Campbell the Bannsiders have a solid base.
In attack Kia McCartney has been a constant threat with open play and penalty corner goals along with Gracie McNally, Ruby Caddoo, Maddy McNally and Georgia Millar.
The Qualifiers take place on Sunday 25th January at Queens PEC.
DETERMINED DEBUT
Coleraine's U15's were also in action at Antrim Forum in the Ulster Tournament and after wins against Ballymena and Lisnagarvey and a draw against Ards made the semi finals only to go out against Instonians.
Sara Lane captained the team superbly and Isla Patterson assured in goals.
Kiera Barnett, Eve Armour and Alice Lynn provided goals. Maya Mahadeva and Isla Millican strong in defence.
A super effort for the team at their first tournament.
