Boreland wins the Irish super-bantamweight title

He said he would do it.

And he did.

Matty Boreland has defeated Ruadhan Farrell to claim the Irish super-bantamweight title.

Fighting on the undercard of the Lewis Crocker v Paddy Donovan rematch at Windsor Park in Belfast, the Coleraine boxer proved too strong for his Belfast opponent.

Boreland landed a couple of heavy shots in the sixth round, Farrell unable to continue.

Where next, then, for 'Bam Bam?'

Who knows, maybe even a rematch at the Coleraine Showgrounds?
