The Police Service of Northern Ireland has arrested 36 people wanted in connection with ongoing police investigations including domestic abuse, serious assault and road traffic offences.

This proactive policing operation over 12 hours on Thursday, 12th March, focused on the areas of Lisburn and Castlereagh, Ards and North Down, Causeway Coast and Glens, Mid and East Antrim and Antrim and Newtownabbey.

The operation targeted individuals wanted on outstanding warrants, those linked to ongoing investigations and offenders suspected of crimes including domestic abuse, serious assault, road traffic offences and breaches of court imposed conditions.

It also formed part of the PSNI’s ongoing commitment to tackling violence against women and girls, protecting vulnerable people and pursuing those who seek to evade justice. This follows a previous coordinated operation in October 2025 in which officers made 32 arrests across six districts in one day.

Superintendent Johnston McDowell said: “This latest operation once again delivered strong results and demonstrates our determination to protect the public, support victims and bring offenders before the courts.

“Those who believe they can avoid arrest, ignore court orders or continue to pose a risk to others should be in no doubt that we will continue to actively pursue them.

“A key priority for us remains tackling violence against women and girls. Operations of this kind are about more than arrest figures alone, they are about safeguarding victims, preventing further harm and sending a clear message that domestic abuse and violence will not be tolerated. We will continue to work across districts, with partner agencies where appropriate to identify suspects, execute warrants and take positive action against those involved in criminality. I want to thank all officers and staff involved for their professionalism and commitment throughout this operation.”

During the operation, officers carried out targeted activity in a number of locations, acting on intelligence and existing lines of enquiry. In addition to arrests police also dealt with a number of enforcement matters, including service of summons and the resolution of outstanding fines and court related issues mirroring outcomes from previous operations.

The PSNI will continue to conduct similar proactive operations aimed at protecting communities, locating wanted persons and preventing further offending.
