It's Tuesday, which means only one thing - your favourite local newspaper is in shops now.

Our lead story this week reports how a local charity set up over 20 years ago is to close.

Zomba Action Project, or ZAP, was set up in 2003 as a partnership between the former Coleraine Borough Council and Zomba City Council in southern Malawi.

Over the ensuing 20 plus years, the charity has raised over £1m to help fight poverty in that area.

Now, however, with a lack of young replacements coming forward to replace aging board members the decision has been taken to close down the charity.

Elsewhere on our front page, we have details about how a Portrush man who punched and choked his partner has been handed a nine-month jail sentence.

We have details of a new £13m housing scheme in Coleraine and a special feature on dealing with dementia in a Care in the Community special.

There are plenty of Halloween happenings featured, along with plenty of information about what events are taking place this weekend.

In sport, we look ahead to Tuesday's night mammoth game at The Showgrounds between league leaders Coleraine and defending champions Linfield.

The Bannsiders are in fine form heading into the midweek game but will have to be at their best to beat the Blues.

All this and much, much more inside The Chronicle - out now!
