It's not too often that we have a 72 page Chronicle these days but we have this week - and for a very good reason!

Tuesday's paper is our annual back to school special - 'First Days at School.'

Our photographers have been busy over the past few weeks, visiting all our local primary schools and capturing those very special Primary One class photos.

So, if your child, or grand child, has started out on their school lives this September, they will be centre stage in this week's paper - a souvenir edition if ever there was one.

Of course, we have all your usual round-ups of news, sport and community information that makes The Chronicle a must-have on a Tuesday.

In the week that Storm Amy battered the north coast we have good news that £1.2m has been set aside to fund repairs at the Barmouth, very timely indeed.

We also reveal that Causeway Coast and Glens recorded the lowest population growth in the province over the past 10 years and bring you some interesting news about Great British Bake Off hopeful Iain Ross.

There are tributes to former Coleraine player and manager Iam McFaul, who sadly passed away at the weekend, and reflect on a disappointing defeat for the Bannsiders away at Bangor.

Slaughtneil hurlers win their 13th senior hurling championship title in a row while Coleraine Cricket Club holds its annual awards night.

With all that happening, it's little wonder this week's paper is a bumper 72 pages!
