PORTSTEWART Golf Club enjoyed a brush with Hollywood on Friday as legendary actor and comedian Bill Murray visited the north coast course while filming for a forthcoming BBC series.
Best known for his roles in Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, and Lost in Translation, Murray spent the day golfing with his brother Joel Murray and two other members of their group, as cameras followed their round on the Championship Links.
The group were warmly welcomed by members and staff, taking time for photos with Lady Captain Moraig McCrum and Operations Manager Jeanie Murray.
Bill was in good spirits as he teed off at the first hole, with another photo capturing the film crew hard at work in the background - highlighting Portstewart’s scenic setting for what promises to be a widely watched production.
The visit brought a touch of stardom to the club and created a buzz among members and visitors alike, proud to see Portstewart featured on an international platform.
