Your favourite weekly local newspaper, the Coleraine Chronicle, is out in the shops today!

On the front page this week we lead with the shocking domestic abuse story after a former Coleraine man was sentenced to 30 months in jail for inflicting months of abuse on his former partner and who posted intimate pictures of her online. The victim has bravely waived her right to anonymity to tell her story and warn others. We have the full story.

Inside we report how businesses in Castlerock and Benone are losing customers and families are unsure whether to drink the local tap water as the Lough Neagh blue green algae crisis continues to reach out across the North Coast.

And we have a special news feature on how the Causeway Coast and Glens is continuing to lose out in direct inward investment - we are living off 'scraps' blasts Council Chief Executive David Jackson.

Meanwhile other news making the paper this week include how a man has appeared in court after his DNA was allegedly found on a 'rape kit'; the Education Minister has promised to minimise pupil movements in a major merger of local secondary schools and we have the latest on the controversy over a welfare dog being kept at Magilligan Prison.

We have all our usual news features this week - the latest council news from Cloonavin, two pages from the local courts; Community Forum features Causeway u3a, Kilrea WI and Coleraine Probus Club and on Schools' Platform front we have a special feature on a Portrush student who spent a year studying in the States and three pages on Dalriada Prize Day.

Along with business news, health news, five pages from the local entertainment scene as well as four pages on farming and 17 packed pages of all the very latest sporting action, it's a package you really can't afford to miss.
