Two major stories with sporting links make the front page of this week's Coleraine Chronicle, which is out in the shops today.

Under the main banner heading 'WINNERS AND LOSERS', we report how there was good and bad news for the area last week with Coleraine FC losing out off the field with a failed major funding bid but Matty Boreland coming home with a top Irish boxing title. We have a full comprehensive round up and pictures.

In other news we report how a 106-year-old war veteran received the BEM honour from the Princess Royal; how the power of seizure is being considered for dilapidated buildings with some in Portrush of particular concern and we have a full report on the inquest into the death of a student from London at the Giant's Causeway.

We have a special news feature on how there were over 400 animal welfare cases in the area last year and we have all the very latest news and views from the council meetings at Cloonavin as well as two pages from the latest magistrates court sittings.

We also have a poignant page featuring children with life-limiting conditions who went on a trip to Disneyland in Paris with the Lapland Trust.

Meanwhile, the paper also has special picture features on Wee Joan's Walk in Portrush; a pub quiz in memory of Ricky Peoples; Damhead Miniature Railway and a special night in Kilrea looking back on the days of ballroom romances.

Along with 17 packed pages of all the latest local sporting action in the area, it's a paper which you will not want to miss so make sure that you grab your very own copy now!
