Major Robert Wilmont MBE is laid to rest in Bushmills

A BUSHMILLS born and bred soldier, who took part in some of the most significant state occasions in recent British history including the King’s Coronation, has been buried with full military honours.
The community of Bushmills and further afield gathered to lay to rest Major Robert James Wilmont, MBE, who passed away peacefully on August 26, at Altnagelvin Hospital.
Born and raised in Bushmills, Major Wilmont was a man deeply rooted in both his family and community.
