A PORTRUSH man, who swapped grey Irish skies for Tuscany sunshine, has written a book about his life-changing decision to emigrate.
Barry Torrens grew up in Portrush and bought a property in Italy in 2016, moving there permanently in 2023 when he became an empty-nester and his third child left for university.
He recalled: “I was fed up with grey skies and decided there was nothing stopping me from fulfilling my dream to move to Tuscany.
“I gave away and sold everything I owned and moved without speaking a word of Italian.”
