A POLICE chief has defended officers following claims that officers were told not to interfere with rioters during disorder in towns including Coleraine unless life was at risk.
CCTV footage showed one standing with his hand in his pocket as masked and hooded men dragged wheelie bins on to a burning barricade at Railway Road.
In one clip masked men can be seen pushing the large blue bin past two PSNI officers as they made their way to the barricade at the level crossing close to town's train station.
