A SINGING group, set up last September to provide people living with dementia and their carers with the opportunity to have fun through music, recently performed at The Cottage care home in Coleraine.
Age Concern Dementia Choir (ACDC) meets every Monday at St Andrew’s Church in Ballysally from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
Mandy Corr, Manager of Age Concern Causeway said: “When delivered effectively, music gives carers and their loved ones an avenue through which they can sustain relationships and share experiences.
“It can also help to minimise the often upsetting symptoms of dementia such as agitation, anxiety and depression. Moreover, it can help to improve a person’s wellbeing and quality of life.”

* If you would be interested in joining the choir phone 02870 357966 or visit the charity's Facebook page for more information.
