THE Portrush Raft will take place this Saturday (24 May), with dozens of teams taking part for charity!
Brought to you by Portrush Yacht Club, the event has been running in aid of Portrush RNLI for over 40 years, and there is no sign of it slowing down.
Teams will build their own unique raft, and race from the West Strand Beach round to the harbour.
The day promises to be a fun-filled experience for all the family, with lots of activities happening before and after the main event.
At 9.30am, the day begins with the Portrush Parkrun with Stormy Stan, with registration for the raft race opening at 11am on Kerr Street Green.
Also at that time, the Junior Raft Race takes place!
Competitors and viewers can enjoy a break for lunch before lifeboat tours at 1pm, and the RNLI exercise at 3pm, gearing up for the main show.
At 3.30pm crowds will no doubt gather for the Portrush Raft Race 2025, with those participating reminded to be at their rafts on the West Strand by 3pm.
The prizegiving awards will take place shortly after at 4pm.
There are public toilet facilities available.
Parking in Portrush during the Raft Race may be limited so please plan ahead and leave plenty of time to get to the event with your raft.
Food trucks, with food and drink to purchase will be available outside of Portrush Lifeboat Station.
Medical and ambulance crews will be in attendance at the event should there be any need for medical support.
