EXCLUSIVE - Garvagh butcher turned midwife to deliver  baby son

BUTCHER Dean Laverty proved he was a cut above the rest when he delivered his baby son at the roadside in freezing temperatures.
His mother’s car doubled up as a delivery room just minutes after Dean and his wife Megan left their Garvagh home intending to drive to Antrim hospital but Mother Nature had other plans for the family.
Dean (31) had been woken by Megan at 12.15am on January 8th when her contractions were coming just three minutes apart.
