A LOCAL charity’s groundbreaking Dementia Safeguarding Scheme shared the limelight at a PSNI awards ceremony.
Age Concern Causeway's vital wristband initiative, which was launched last autumn to provide peace of mind to families who have a loved one living with dementia, secured third place in the Problem Solving in Partnership category.
The Coleraine-based charity provides support borough-wide and was nominated for the accolade by the local PSNI.
Speaking after the annual awards ceremony in Belfast last month, Chair of the charity's Trustees William McCandless said: “Our team were delighted that we were awarded third place in this category and are extremely pleased with the confidence the PSNI has had in working with us and supporting this initiative.”
Looking to the future, he added: “We look forward to eventually having this initiative rolled out throughout the province and are actively pursuing that.
