Road users are being advised to expect traffic disruption in and around Coleraine town centre today, Wednesday 14th August, due to a planned parade taking place in honour of Olympic Gold Medal winner Hannah Scott.

"The parade will begin at 3pm but delays are expected from 2pm onwards due to the volume of people likely to attend," a spokesperson for the police said

"Local officers will be on the ground to assist with the flow of traffic, but if you are not planning on attending the parade, please seek an alternative route for your journey."

Hannah and her crew members stunned the sporting world with their dramatic last gasp victory in the women’s quadruple sculls on Wednesday July 31.

Her homecoming celebrations will be hosted by Bann Rowing Club this Wednesday (August 14). After a meeting with club members Hannah will lead a parade up Bridge Street at around 3.30pm though the Diamond to the Town Hall for a council-hosted reception.
