Diwali, the Indian Festival of Light

A COLOURFUL and mesmerising taste of India came to Coleraine last week.
Members of the Causeway Multicultural Forum (CMCF), supported by the Indian 50+ club, held a very successful and enjoyable afternoon at the West Bann Community Centre on Saturday November 11.
The event was celebrating Diwali, the biggest festival in India, which is known as the festival of light and symbolises the victory of light over darkness, good over evil.
This was supported by The National Lottery Community Fund and attended by over 60 people, coming from countries such as Bulgaria, India, Poland, Ukraine, China, France, Shri Lanka, Italy, Mexico, USA, England, Uganda and Northern Ireland.
