BREAKING NEWS: man with machete arrested in Coleraine

POLICE have arrested a 23-year-old man following the report of a man being "armed with a knife" in the Bushmills Road area earlier this morning, Wednesday June 14th.

Social media videos show a man brandishing what appears to be a machete in and around the train and bus station area.

He appears to be dressed in black with a balaclava covering his face.

The videos show the man to be confronted by concerned members of the public.

A police spokesperson said that he remains in custody at this time and that enquiries are ongoing.
