FOLLOWING on from the second display of the Portrush Beach Races, it was yet another popular event as masses of people lined the Promenade at the East Strand to watch the motocross spectacular.

UUP councillor and Portrush retailer Norman Hillis was full of praise for the modern motorcycling event. Speaking to the Chronicle, Alderman Hillis said: “The Beach Races were fantastic and I think it is great for Portrush as yet again the town showed that it is more than capable of staging events which will be excellent looking ahead to The Open Championship.

“Next year has a lot in store for the local area and hopefully 2019 can be a record breaking year,” he said.
