Northern Ireland Motor Club achieves Motorsport UK Sustainability accreditation

The Modern Tyres Ulster Rally organising club, Northern Ireland Motor Club (NIMC), has reached a significant milestone after successfully achieving the Motorsport UK Sustainability Accreditation, reinforcing its commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable event management.

NIMC becomes only the second motor club in Northern Ireland to gain this accreditation, following Omagh Motor Club who completed the process earlier this year.

The achievement places NIMC at the forefront of sustainable motorsport delivery within the region.

The Motorsport UK Sustainability Accreditation recognises clubs that actively implement best practice across key areas including environmental impact, community engagement, waste management and responsible event operations.

The accreditation reflects the ongoing work behind the scenes by NIMC to ensure that events such as the Ulster Rally are organised with sustainability firmly in mind.

Richard Crozier, Deputy Clerk of Course and Environmental Champion for the Ulster Rally, welcomed the achievement and highlighted the importance of embedding sustainability within the club’s operations:

milestone for the Northern Ireland Motor Club. Sustainability is now a core part of how we plan and deliver the Ulster Rally, from working closely with local communities to managing waste and reducing our environmental impact.

"This recognition reflects the dedication of our volunteers and our commitment to ensuring the long-term future of rallying in Northern Ireland.”

The accreditation further strengthens NIMC’s commitment to working positively with local residents, landowners and authorities, while ensuring that the Ulster Rally continues to meet modern standards expected of major sporting events.

With sustainability now firmly embedded within its planning and delivery, NIMC continues to lead by example, ensuring that rallying in Northern Ireland has a strong and responsible future.
