THE final meeting of the 2025 season at Aghadowey Oval takes place on Saturday night, November 1.
There is a packed programme of racing, including three Irish Championship events.
The first of the Irish Championship deciders is for the competitive Stock Rods division. Close racing will be the order of the day, with Randalstown's Sam McNeice starting from pole position on points scored during the season.
Glenavy's Jonny Cardwell, 16-year-old Scarva sensation Harry Minish and Dungannon-based Scot Siobhan Martin all start in the higher reaches of the grid and will harbour hopes of claiming the title. Martin will also be aiming to be the first driver in the sport to claim both Scottish and Irish Championship titles.
An explosive Irish Championship in the rough and tumble 1300 Stock Cars is guaranteed, with the sparks sure to fly as they top drivers contest the battle for the green roof.
World Champion Curtis Greer from Cullybackey starts from pole position with Lurgan's Graham Meek alongside.
Others in the mix will be Drogheda’s Fionn Donnelly, Ballymena star Gary Freeburn plus Matthew Milliken, Jon McQuillan and Josh McKinstry to name a few. The big bumpers are sure to be put to good use, with drama guaranteed!
The final Irish Championship race is for the Thunder Rods formula, where Ballymena’s James Goldie starts on pole spot as he aims for his third Irish title in succession.
James recently debuted a brand new car which looked fast straight out of the box, but there will be a whole gaggle of drivers snapping at his heels.
Kilrea’s Joshua McMullan will start second, with Strabane’s Adam McKinney and Rasharkin’s Jason Darragh on row two, followed by Mark McLaughlin (Coleraine) and Liam Wilson (Limavady).
The fastest cars on the oval tracks, the National Hot Rods, contest the Richard Turtle Memorial Cup in memory of the much missed former Cullybackey driver.
Dungannon’s Derek Martin will defend the coveted trophy, but will face stiff opposition from a number of quality drivers.
Current form man Glenn Bell (Portadown) has claimed victory in the British, Ulster and Irish Open Championships over the past six weeks and will go very close once again. Galgorm’s Shane Murray, Crumlin’s John Christie plus Cork brothers Jeff and Ian Riordan will be amongst the chasing pack, with Kells racer Carl Sloan due to make a welcome return to the local raceways.
Completing the line up are the teenage stars in the Junior Productions, where the King of Aghadowey title is up for grabs.
Action commences at Aghadowey Oval at 6.30pm.
