OLLIE Wilson, the promising 14-year-old son of former Gearlink Kawasaki British Supersport racer Ben Wilson, is set to make a significant milestone in his racing career by debuting on tarmac at the highly anticipated Sunflower Races, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 24 and 25.
Young Ollie has already established himself in the racing community, clinching titles as the Junior Sand Racing Champion and the British Junior Flat Track Champion.
His inaugural track appearance will take place at the Bishopscourt circuit, where he will be competing on the popular Kawasaki Ninja 400.
This moment holds a special significance for the Wilson family, as it was at this very event back in 2015 that Ben Wilson concluded his racing career - a poignant reminder of the family's deep-rooted connection to the sport.
In the competitive landscape of the USBK Supersport 300 championship, Ruben Sherman Boyd is currently leading the standings with a narrow 11-point advantage over his closest rival, Roy Werst.
Trailing behind them in third place is Rory Creith.
Sherman Boyd faced a challenging season, missing several rounds while participating in the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki British Superteen Championship.
However, his resilience shone through when he secured a commendable fourth place finish at Oulton Park just a couple of weeks ago. Ruben was also the top rookie for the series.
His racing prowess was further highlighted when he represented his country at the prestigious Celtic Match races in East Fortune, where he, alongside Carl Philips, emerged victorious.
Notably, Ruben also managed to break Kian McDonald's winning streak and set a new class record on his debut - a remarkable achievement that underscores his talent and potential.
Meanwhile, Rory Creith has been showcasing his skills in various national championship events across the waters this season, thereby increasing the competitive excitement in the lead-up to the championship's final round.
