THIS weekend sees arguably the biggest oval racing event ever staged in Northern Ireland take place at Tullyroan Oval.
World Championships for both the Superstox and Stock Rods formulas head the programme alongside the British Championship for the elite National Hot Rods.
Completing the bill are the Ninja Karts racing for the Internations Cup.

Superstox

The 64th staging of the Superstox World Championship, the oldest title in the sport of Stock Car racing, promises to be a competitive event.
With Portadown's Jordan Robinson defending the crown he won a year ago in England, he will harbour high hopes of holding onto the magnificent trophy.
Jordan is also the current British and Irish Champion so is on top form.
Another Portadown ace, Steven Haugh, is the current European Champion and he has been the man to beat around his home Tullyroan circuit all season.
Add in Loughgall star Jamie McCann and Aughnacloy's National Champion Kyle Beattie and the home challenge is very strong.
Michael Green from England, the current National Points Champion, will top the visiting challenge alongside English Champion Randall Lynn and former European Champion Ian Beaumont.
From Scotland there will also be a rapid contingent, headed by Aaron Riddell, Dean Johnston, Bryan Forrest and Kenny McKenzie.
With a capacity grid it promises to be quite a spectacle!

Stock Rods

In the Stock Rods, Kent driver John Smith puts his world title on the line and he is sure to be right at the sharp end once again.
Former Champion Stuart Smyth, Max Bradburn, Dave Burton, Luke Oliver and Charley Woodcock are also amongst the English challengers with European Champion Robbie Armit, Sean Naismith, Terri Linden and Dean and Lee McGill leading the tartan invasion from Scotland.
The Ulster Stock Rods scene is ultra competitive, and the quest for the gold roof will be led by Dungannon-based Scot Siobhan Martin, the current British Champion.
Mark Crawford (Nutts Corner) is the current Irish Champion and will go close, as will recently crowned NI Points Champion Sam McNeice.
Add in former World title holder Stevie McNiece from Enniskillen and Glenavy's Jonny Cardwell and there is a strong local threat.
National Hot Rods

Five times World Champion and defending British Champion Robert McDonald heads the National Hot Rods British Championship entry list, with some top racing guaranteed from the fastest cars on the ovals.
McDonald is a man right at the top of his game in his Ginetta and will surely go close again.
Hampshire's Billy Wood was runner up a year ago and will hope to go one better, whilst Norfolk's Perry Cooke, the current English points champion, comes to Ulster on top form after a hat-trick just a fortnight ago at Hednesford.
Hayden Ballard impressed at Tullyroan last season and will be chasing British glory, alongside the likes of Nick Roots, Terry Hunn and Kev Gooding.
Scottish Champion Gordon Alexander and James Robertson spearhead the Scottish entry, whilst former British Champion Dave Casey makes the trip to represent Tipperary Raceway.
A whole host of local stars will be hoping to claim the British title.
Cork based Ian Riordan recently claimed the National Championship and will be aiming for more major glory, as will his brother Jeff, the current NI Points Champion.
The 2023 British Champion Adam Maxwell (Crumlin) has shown a great form of late, as has recent returnee Glenn Bell.
Add in crowd favourites John Christie and Shane Murray and the local threat is as strong as ever.

Ninja Karts

World champion Dillon Murphy from county Cork heads the Ninja Karts entry as the kids chase both the Internations Cup and the Keir Millar Memorial Trophy. European and Best in Britain holder Mason Carberry is always a threat, as is Irish Open Champion Rory Wilson from Scotland.
NI Points holder Jack Murphy tops the local challengers, alongside Ollie Williamson and Jaxon Cairns.
Practice is on Friday evening (September 19) from 6pm, with racing on Saturday from 6pm and Sunday from 2pm.
