Ireland’s biggest junior golf tour - the Flogas Irish Junior Open Tour - will host its annual Tournament of Champions at Portstewart Golf Club this Sunday (March 12).

The tournament will bring together the top 24 Junior Champions from the 2022 season to give them an opportunity to compete alongside each other and find out who is the overall champion.

The tour - now in its ninth year - has attracted thousands of golfers, boys and girls aged 5 to 19, from all across the world to compete for the prestigious Darren Clarke, Payne Stewart, Ping and Gary Player Trophies.

Speaking just ahead of the event, organiser Michael Gallagher from MG Pro Golf admitted he was looking forward to an exciting day's play.

“Having an amazing venue like the Strand course at Portstewart host our big Champions day out is fitting as it allows our juniors to walk in the footsteps of former Irish Open champion and world number one Jon Rahm," he said.

"This past year the events have grown and exciting opportunities like qualification for the ‘Champion of Champions’ World Championship have attracted a lot of strong fields.

"Finally, I would like to wish all the competitors a great day out and, as always, I thank the sponsors for their support," he added.
