CHAMPIONSHIP action continues tomorrow night for Limavady in their first of four back-to-back away games in the League.

It would have been five if not for Limavady's Semi-Final Irish Cup Fixture on March 7 against Coleraine FC - which will result in a game in hand heading into the split.

Limavady toughed it out against Loughgall over the weekend in a scoreless draw at the Coleraine Showgrounds in a what was described as a "flat performance". The visiting Villagers thought they had snatched all three points in the final quarter of the match, but Aaron Prendergast’s effort was ruled offside, keeping things level at 0–0.

After the match, Limavady manager Paul Owens admitted the performance fell below expectations: “The result or the performance isn’t what we were looking for today,” he said.

“It’s as flat as I’ve seen us. For a team that’s trying to win the league, this was a really flat performance.“We’ve been in good form, and we were getting into the same areas as before, but I just felt there was a lack of quality today.

“Our distribution wasn’t anywhere near where we want it to be. I don’t think we had them under as much pressure as we would have liked. It’s just one of those results that doesn’t go our way. We’ll take the point and move on. Results have gone our way elsewhere, so there’s no harm done, and it’s another game ticked off."

No harm done refers to the top three sides all dropping points: Limavady with a draw, Annagh drawing with Ballinamallard United, and H&W Welders being defeated handily by Institute FC, 4-1. The point on the board for Limavady still keeps them narrowly in charge of the League, with Annagh United now becoming the chasing side.
