COLERAINE and Ballymena United renew rivalries this Friday, February 20.
And there will certainly be some weary travelling supporters arriving at the Showgrounds.
That’s because 15 Ballymena fans are walking the 26 miles to the game!
Yes, some Sky Blues fans are walking from Warden Street to Ballycastle Road for charity.
And Coleraine fans are invited to join in at any stage.
All money raised will go towards Air Ambulance.
It is the latest in a series of events helping to keep alive the memory of Ballymena United fan Lydia Ross who sadly passed away in 2023.
“It is a wonderful gesture,” said Lydia’s father Paul.
“Some of the guys who would have sat with us in Block F came up with the idea.
“It is a great undertaking and the response to date has been tremendous.
“I have a lot of good friends who are Coleraine fans and quite a few have indicated they will walk some of the way.
“People can join on at any point. The more the merrier.
“It is times like this that shows what a proper football rivalry is like with true fans coming together,” added Paul.
