DESPITE no match last weekend, Portstewart were still able to take something positive away from their match cancellation.

The club announced on their social media that Dean Brown, Tiarnan McKinney and Orrin McLaughlin have committed their futures to the club by signing professional contracts.

“This is a fantastic show of belief in the direction of the club and a testament to the hard work, dedication and performances all three players have shown in a Portstewart shirt," said a spokesperson.

“We’re proud to see talent committing to the badge and taking the next step in their careers with us. The future is bright.

“Congratulations lads - we look forward to seeing you continue to develop and represent Portstewart FC with pride.”

The Seahawks also announced that Bobby Jack McAleese has returned to Portstewart on loan from Dungannon Swifts.

McAleese will remain with John Gregg's side for the remained of the season.

On the other side of the mountain in the Championship, Limavady United have welcomed Ricky Purcell back to the Roesiders after departing in the summer to Coagh United.

Limavady manager Paul Owens expressed his delight that Purcell has returned.

“I’m delighted to welcome Ricky back to the club," he said.

“Ricky was one of my first signings when I arrived at the club and he played a massive part in the treble winning season.

“We were disappointed to lose Ricky in the summer and when he became available in this window everyone at the club was excited for him to make a return.”

Limavady United make the trip to Fermanagh on Friday night to face Ballinamallard United (8pm) while Portstewart host Dergview  at 2pm on Saturday.
