TWO different results last weekend create two different scenarios for Limavady United and Portstewart FC in the lead up to Christmas.
In the Championship, Limavady maintained their unbeaten form and promotional campaign, tied at the top with Annagh United. Kicking off at the Coleraine Showgrounds, the Roesiders' first-half dominance over Armagh City secured their three points on the board, but bitterly for Limavady, Armagh were able to ruin the chances for a clean sheet, which manager Paul Owens expressed his disappointment "Yes, we got ourselves three-nil up at half time, but goal difference in this League is massive, especially when you're tied at the top."
Limavady travel to Blanchflower Stadium on Saturday against third place H&W Welders, a win here for Limavady and points dropped for Annagh, breaks the stalemate between them and the Roesiders.
In the Premier Intermediate League for Portstewart, it's a different story. After two back-to-back losses they find themselves at the bottom end of the table, currently in 12th place, they no doubt have a mountain to climb if they want to find themselves finishing in the top end of the table this season. Moyola FC lead the way in the League with 18 points followed closely by Newry City - who Portstewart play host to this weekend.
