COLERAINE FC is proud to stand alongside designated charity partners, the Zachary Geddis Trust, to raise awareness and support for Men’s Mental Health Month throughout November.
Mental health challenges affect so many within our community - teammates, supporters, friends and families - yet, too often, men suffer in silence.
This month, the club is encouraging each member of the Bannsiders family to speak up, check in and look out for one another.
Together with the Zachary Geddis Trust, the club will be sharing resources and advice to help break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.
Yasmin Geddis, CEO of the Zachary Geddis Trust, said: “Opening up about men’s mental health is incredibly important. Not just for individuals, but for families, communities, and society as a whole.
“For generations, men have been taught to ‘be strong’ or ‘tough it out’.
“These outdated expectations can make it hard for men to express vulnerability or ask for help.
“Talking openly challenges that stigma and shows that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
“The Zachary Geddis Trust is proud to be partnering with Coleraine Football Club this November to highlight and raise awareness of Men’s Mental Health.”
Dale Pryde-MacDonald, CEO at Coleraine FC, added: “Working with the Zachary Geddis Trust to highlight Men’s Mental Health Month is an important and vital way of raising awareness around the services that are out there to support men within our community.
“Men’s mental health needs to be highlighted and spoken about more, it is still a subject people distance themselves from and we want to ensure that our supporters and community know that the club and the Zachary Geddis Trust are here for you at any point throughout the year.
“This isn’t about football, it’s not about the teams we may or may not support, this is about working together to support men across the Northwest that need somebody to speak to or somebody to listen.”
