COLERAINE striker Matthew Shevlin is the Sports Direct Premiership Player of the Month for October.
Shevlin scored four in the month - finding the net against Portadown and Linfield as well as bagging a brace against his old club Ballymena United.
It's the third time the striker has won the prestigious award.
Shevlin: “It's been a fantastic few weeks for me because I have been scoring goals and helping the team to win games, so this award is a nice way to top that off.
“I also scored my 100th goal for Coleraine during October, which was a nice moment.
“However, results are what matters. We have experienced players in the dressing room who have won leagues at other clubs and I think that will really help us in the second half of the season.
“Personally, I'm desperate to be part of a club that wins a league title. I was part of a Linfield squad that won it, but I don't really count that as I didn't play too much.
“We just need to take every game as it comes.”
Runner-up was Bangor defender Reece Neale, while Dungannon Swifts striker Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe was third.
Meanwhile, Limavady United midfielder Philip Lowry has been named Championship Player of the Month for October.
The former Linfield and Crusaders star scored three goals as the Roesiders completed the month unbeaten to keep the pressure on leaders Annagh United.
A delighted Lowry said: “I'd like to thank the Football Writers' for this award, it's always nice to win something like this.
“It was a difficult decision for me to leave Crusaders with a year left on my contract, but I had reached a point in my life where playing in my hometown team alongside my brother Stephen made sense.
“After a shaky start, we are now playing well and we're confident we will be challenging near the top of the table come the end of the season.
“However, anything can happen in the Championship so there is a lot of hard work to be done.”
