Following a League win over Ards and a North West Senior Cup victory against Coleraine FC, momentum is riding high in the Limavady changing room.

A tense penalty shootout on Tuesday night saw Limavady book their place in the Final against Strabane. And while it’s “nice to have other things to look forward to,” the main focus for Paul Owens’ side remains firmly on their upcoming clash with league leaders Annagh United.

Limavady currently sit second in the table, just a single point ahead of H&W Welders, while Annagh lead the pack with an eight-point cushion after their 2–0 win over the Welders at the weekend. Every victory for the Roesiders is crucial as they look to close the gap on the promotion favourites.

Goals from Leon Boyd, Alfie Gaston, and Sam McClintock proved the difference on Saturday, earning Limavady all three points against a side who had troubled them several times last season. But with a refreshed line-up and new tactical approach, Owens’ squad have shown real development -delivering consistent performances and results week in, week out.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s clash, Owens told the Chronicle: “All eyes are on Annagh. We’re in a good place in the league and we just need to take that into Saturday.

"They’re coming to our turf, and it gives us a great opportunity to close the gap. We’ll make sure we go into the weekend ready to push ourselves towards the top of the table.”
