FORMER Coleraine defender Howard Beverland has announced his retirement from the game.
The Ballymoney man made 322 appearances for the Bannsiders across two different spells.
“After nearly two unforgettable decades in Irish league football, I’ve made the very difficult decision to step back from the game,” Howard said on social media.
“Football has given me more than I ever dreamed - league titles, unforgettable European nights, incredible teammates, and memories that will stay with me for life.
“The highs were incredible - those hard-fought victories, last-minute goals, and shared celebrations - and the setbacks, though tough, helped shape who I am today. Both have played their part in this journey.

“Football gave me a platform to live out, share my faith and represent something bigger than myself, and for that, I’ll always be grateful.
“To my family and friends - thank you for the unwavering support, I couldn’t have done it without you.
“To all my clubs, fans, teammates, coaches and opposition players - thank you for being part of the journey. I’m better because of each of you.
“Thank you for the memories - football has been a gift.
“Grateful. Humbled. Ready for what’s next,” he added.
