LIMAVADY United secured a clinical 4-1 win against Newington on Saturday, maintaining their strong form and moving into second place in the Championship League.
The match began with a strong performance from the Roesiders.
John Butcher gave Limavady the lead in the 38th minute with a penalty and Andrew Whiteside doubled their advantage just before half-time.
Limavady continued to apply pressure in the second half, with Matthew Walker finding the net in the 52nd minute to make it 3-0.
Newington managed to pull one back after 58 minutes through Patrick Downey, but the visitors’ goal did little to disrupt Limavady’s control.
Joe McCready sealed the victory in the 87th minute, making it 4-1 and ensuring the three points.
The Roesiders will look to build on this result when they entertain Newry City at the Showgrounds this Saturday, kick-off 2pm.
