COLERAINE manager Oran Kearney concedes it is frustrating having no game this weekend - just as it would appear his players are finally beginning to find some form.
The Bannsiders get a rare Saturday off, owing to it being Irish Cup weekend and them not being in the competition which just adds to the sense of frustration in the camp.
“It is frustrating and ideally you'd want a game," said Kearney this week.
“We will take a little bit of a break through the week and bring the boys in for a good in-house game to make sure everyone gets minutes and we keep people pushing on.
“The likes of Jamie McGonigle and Jack Scott have missed a lot of football so, for those guys, it's important that we keep getting minutes into them.
“We've a couple of guys carrying aches and pains who we will wrap in cotton wool and we will use the two weeks wisely,” he added.
Coleraine are next in action when they host league leaders Larne at Ballycastle Road on Saturday March 9 when they hope to record a hat-trick of league wins for the first time this season.
Asked if things were finally starting to come together on the pitch, the manager replied ‘it is only us that can make it come together.’
“I think bar Stephen O'Donnell and Josh Carson, and we have a couple of others around the periphery, we've got the injured numbers down from six or seven to two,” he said.
“That's been the big difference for us to get the quality with what we've started with today and the substitutes we are able to bring on, it hasn't been like that for large parts of the season.”
