THE 85th Ballymoney Drama Festival ended on Friday 6th March after a very enjoyable week in which audiences watched and discussed five interesting and challenging plays performed by some of the best amateur dramatic groups in Northern Ireland.
At the closing ceremony, Mac Pollock, Chairman of Ballymoney Drama Festival, thanked members of the organising committee and the sponsors whose loyal generosity ensures the survival of the unique local event despite the rising costs of putting on a Festival.
He encouraged members of the audience to support them in return. He also thanked the Town Hall Caretaker, Jim Stevenson for all his work and members of the local RNLI committee who provided supper on Monday evening.
Finally, he appealed to audience members to raise the issue of the future of Ballymoney Town Hall, and so of the Drama Festival, with their local councillors.
