A bucket collection for Brainwaves NI will take place during Friday night’s Sports Direct Premiership clash against Glentoran.

Organised by Graham Bell and friends, the collection is in memory of Ricky Peoples, who sadly passed away with a glioblastoma brain tumour in February this year. The Coleraine native was aged just 46.

Brainwaves NI was a charity close to Ricky’s heart. He was diagnosed on New Year’s Eve 2023 and Brainwaves NI supported him throughout his illness.

They are the only self-funded brain tumour charity in Northern Ireland led by volunteers who have been affected by a brain tumour in one way or another. They work closely with Queen’s University studying brain tumours, hoping to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for brain cancer.

Brainwaves NI still continues to support Ricky’s family, his wife Andrea and children Josh and Halle. This is why Graham and his friends want to give something back to them so Brainwaves NI can continue to help other families in a similar situation.

Any donations given by supporters will be greatly appreciated by the charity.
