A JUDGE yesterday (Monday) warned that he was taking “a zero tolerance approach” towards assaults on medical staff and public servants.
Deputy District Judge Philip Mateer's comments at Coleraine Courthouse came after he heard how a Macosquin woman had attacked a doctor at Coleraine Health Centre on February 13 this year.
North Antrim Magistrates were told how 23-year-old Elizabeth White, of Ramsey Park, had lashed out after the doctor refused to give her medication she wanted.
Last week the Chronicle revealed how a consultant had been punched and pushed at Causeway Hospital after 54 nursing staff were attacked there last year.
