A grateful Coleraine mum is counting her blessings after receiving a life-saving kidney transplant.

Heather Vance, 36, was just 28 when she was diagnosed with kidney failure.

Looking back, Heather said: “I had high blood pressure but didn't realise it because there are no real symptoms.

“My face started swelling up because of the build-up of fluid in my body and when I started to feel unwell I went to my doctor.

“A blood test confirmed that my organs were shutting down and I had to go straight to hospital.

“Otherwise, I would have died within days.”
