ONE of Coleraine's biggest private sector employers is set to expand.

Lynas Foodservice lodged plans to build a new grocery warehouse at its Loughanhill distribution centre last month.

The company said the expansion was prompted by the continued growth of the business.

The application indicates around 20 jobs will be created.

In a statement to the Chronicle, Managing Director Andrew Lynas said: “Due to the continuing growth of the business, Lynas Foodservice are hoping to build a new grocery warehouse at the current Loughanhill Industrial Estate site.

“Along with the warehouse, services and amenities will be improved for current and new staff.

“I am grateful for the continued hard work of our staff and also excited for Coleraine as this new build will bring further employment opportunities to the area.”
