A CONVERSATION between a member of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and a school principal a year ago has led to Damhead Primary being able to offer lifesaving equipment to the local community.

Damhead Primary recently celebrated ‘Restart a Heart Day’ which is a global event aiming to train people with the skills and confidence to help save a life.

“All of the children celebrated the event by learning how to deal with an emergency situation as well as the older children learning the techniques of CPR,” commented Principal Jill Laverty.

An awareness evening organised by the Parents and Friends Association was open to the local community involving the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and St Johns Ambulance.
