BUSINESS owners fear an R&A take-over of almost every car park in Portrush could lead to a collapse in trade during the Open Championship.
The traders concerns were raised at a town hall meeting with council officials on Wednesday.
According to the Council's transport plan, golf fans will be encouraged to take public transport to the event which runs for a week at the end of July, 2019.
But the the vast majority of spectators that do arrive by car will be directed to out-of-town park and ride facilities.
Car parks at East Strand, West Strand, Dunluce Avenue and Sandhill Drive are needed for players, tournament staff, media and coach parking.
