POLITICIANS from across the political divide have joined to condemn Saturday's night paramilitary style attack at Kurin Lane, Garvagh.

SDLP Councillor Roisin Loftus said: “This appears to have been an extremely violent attack on a man and his young daughter and has no place in our society.”

East Derry SDLP MLA John Dallat said: “This horrific scene of the most incredible violence near Garvagh must set the alarm bells ringing because it tells us there is a ruthless gang at large seeking power over people and wanting to control whole communities.

“Unfortunately to date there have been no arrests, that I am aware of.”

Ulster Unionist Councillor Richard Holmes said: “I strongly condemn these actions.

“We live in a democracy with a police force, judicial system and the rule of law. Nobody should ever have recourse to take the law into their own hands."
