VETERAN GAA photographer Danny O'Kane is the focus of our attention this week as we take a look back through his extensive archives.

Danny, who has been taking pics in local GAA circles for more years that he would probably care to remember, is busy transferring his old film to digital.

That gives us a good excuse to take a step back in time, to revisit some of his memories which chronicle the changing face of gaelic games in the Oak Leaf county.

This week, The Chronicle newspaper features Ballerin Sarsfields GAC, a small rural club located at Ringsend, just outside Garvagh.

The photographs were taken at a club function in Garvagh's Imperial Hotel to mark the official centenary of the Gaelic Athletic Association.

Unfortunately, some of those pictured are no longer with us, having gone to their eternal rest, which only adds extra poignancy to the images.

Get this week's Chronicle and see who know in 'Danny's GAA Memories.'
